Kenny Smith, wastewater superintendent for West Escambia Utilities, said that severe rainwater has resulted in the discharge of raw sewage in some parts of the city of Atmore.

Smith said that residents are encouraged to avoid contact with any spilled sewage, especially near the manhole at Wilson Avenue and Ridgley Street.
