Escambia Academy seniors Grayson Emmons, Lacie Flowers and Peyton Snider will play in the AISA All-Star game this Friday in Montgomery.

Three seniors on the Escambia Academy Lady Cougars basketball team were recently selected to participate in a state-wide all-star game.

Senior guards Grayson Emmons and Lacie Flowers, and senior forward Peyton Snider, will take part in the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) All-Star Basketball Game on Friday at Huntingdon College in Montgomery. The three players will be participants on the West All-Stars. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.

EA coach David Walker said this is the first time, since he returned to the school to coach in 2011, that the Lady Cougars have had three all-stars on the team.

“It’s quite an honor to have this many players make the same all-star team,” he said.

Walker said that Emmons averaged more than 20 points per game this year, and scored her 1,000th point at the school during her junior year. He added that both Flowers and Snider also averaged in double figures in scoring.

Walker said Flowers played point guard for the Lady Cougars this season and did an admirable job of running the team’s offense. He also praised the hard work of Snider’s rebounding, noting that she averaged in double figures in rebounds.

EA advanced to the AISA Class AAA quarterfinals this season, before falling 60-54 to Evangel Christian. The Lady Cougars finished the year with a record of 13-6.

The schools on the West All-Stars include EA, Fort Dale Academy, Kingwood Christian, Lowndes Academy, Marengo Academy, Patrician Academy, Southern Academy, Sparta Academy and Wilcox Academy. They will take on the East All-Stars.
