BREWTON — Escambia County High School’s baseball team finished with a 0-3 record at the county tournament last weekend, dropping to 1-5 for the season.
ECHS lost its opening game Thursday, falling 13-2 to host team T.R. Miller. The Blue Devils lost 10-0 to W.S. Neal on Friday, and also fell 10-0 to Flomaton on Saturday, finishing in fourth place at the tournament.
Host school T.R. Miller was the county champion, defeating W.S. Neal 5-2 in Saturday’s championship game.
ECHS was scheduled to play a regular-season game at T.R. Miller on Monday, but that game was not complete by press time.
The Blue Devils are set to host Flomaton on Friday at 5:30 p.m. ECHS will also host area opponent UMS-Wright next Monday, at 4:30 p.m.

Gaetyn Thames scored one of the Blue Devils’ runs. He was initially called out during a close play at the plate, but the call was reversed because the T.R. Miller catcher lost control of the ball.
Ricky Reed took the loss for the Devils, working 4 1/3 innings and allowing five runs on six hits. He walked two batters, hit two batters, and struck out four. Tyler Weaver and Gage White also pitched in the game for ECHS.
Matthew Quimby and Wesley Jefferson had the lone hits.
ECHS 10, W.S. Neal 0
W.S. Neal’s Lane Chavers pitched a one-hitter and recorded three strikeouts to help the Eagles shut out ECHS on Friday.
Chavers had a no-hitter through 4 1/3 innings, as the Eagles claimed the win in five innings.
Wesley Jefferson had the lone hit for the Blue Devils.
