Thanks for your support in our time of need

This is a long overdue thank you. My dad, James B. “Jim” Odom, passed away on Oct. 13, 2013, after a 13-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. My family was truly overwhelmed by the outpour of compassion and support shown to us during our loss. If you know an “Odom” in Atmore, I am sure you are aware that we are a large family (15 kids). The show of love and support was coming at us in every direction.

I would like to say a special thank you to the Hooper Matthews family. There was not a day that passed that there wasn’t a knock on the door and it was a delivery from Pepsi, South AL Vending and/or the Matthews family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our daddy loved your family and he would have been so proud of the outpouring of love and support shown to us.

I would also like to take time to thank Mayor Staff, who donated a flag display case for the flag that was draped over my dad’s casket.

I can’t forget the Poarch Creek Indians; they even brought coloring books and crayons so the kids would have something to do.

There was so much support that I don’t want to leave anyone out. So let me just say, “Thank you to EVERYONE.” Those who brought food, donated money, sent flowers, said prayers, called, and visited, your concern and show of support is greatly appreciated.

May God bless you all.
