Angelia Montgomery helps Annie Brazzell put on her “Miss ANC” sash, after Brazzell was named the winner of the annual Miss Atmore Nursing Center pageant Tuesday night.

About the only thing missing from Tuesday night’s 2014 Miss Atmore Nursing Center pageant was Bert Parks serenading the winner with a rendition of “There she is, Miss ANC.”

This year, it was Annie Brazzell who took home the honor of being crowned 2014 Miss ANC. Rosa Redmond finished as the first runner-up, and Savannah Daughtry was the second runner-up.

The pageant is an annual activity held each year at ANC by the Activity Department. Activities director Darlene Murphy was the pageant’s emcee, and not only introduced each contestant but also asked each participant a question in the pageant’s interview portion.

Murphy asked the champion Brazzell to give the best piece of advice that she could ever give a person.

“Listen to your mom and dad,” she said. “That’s the best advice there is.”
