The Atmore city pools at Tom Byrne Park and Houston Avery Park opened for public swimming Monday, June 2, and will remain open through August.

At Tom Byrne Park, the cost is $1 for swimmers 15 and under, and $2 for swimmers 16 and older. The pools are open Monday through Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

At Houston Avery Park, the cost is $1 for all swimmers. The pool is open Monday through Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is also an opportunity for pool rental Saturday or Sunday, for a four-hour block of time anytime between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The rental fee is $75, with additional fees for lifeguards.

Houston Avery Park will also have children’s swimming lessons for $0.75, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Adult swimming lessons are $1 and are held Monday, Wednesday or Friday, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
