The staff of The Atmore Advance would like to welcome all of our loyal readers to participate in a fun new contest this year.

For the past several issues, we have been publishing a “Best of the Best” ballot that allows you to vote on your favorite businesses and business people. The ballot is running again today, on Page 6B. There are a variety of categories, including “Best Coffee,” “Best Mechanic” and “Best Peace Officer.”

I encourage everyone to fill out a ballot and return it to us by Friday, either by dropping it off at our 301 S. Main St. address, or by mailing it to that address or P.O. Box 28. Remember, your vote could make a big difference in the final tally.

So often, people in the business world work hard and offer great customer service, but never get any special recognition or award for it. After all, they know that the best way to grow a business is to serve the customer and make each customer feel special.

This is a unique way for customers to give back and show support for those who “go the extra mile.”

The winners of the contest will be included in a special section that will publish Wednesday, July 30.
