Dave Jordan confirmed Friday that Gov. Robert Bentley has appointed Jordan to serve as circuit judge in Escambia County, filling the unexpired term of retiring Circuit Judge Bradley E. Byrne.

The appointment is effective Tuesday, July 1. Jordan has previously served as a district judge.

Jordan also said that Jeffrey A. White has been appointed to take Jordan’s place. White is a Brewton attorney who also serves as an assistant district attorney.
