Robert Faircloth, 84, arguably one of Atmore’s leading businessmen, passed away at approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 29, at 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church of Atmore. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., prior to the service.

Faircloth began operating the Ponderosa Drive-In in 1968, and it remained open until he closed it in 1993 to open David’s Catfish House. David’s Catfish House was named the Business of the Year at the Atmore Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting in February.
