Director of human resources Veronica McKinney was also apparently relieved of her duties at JDCC. Since then, officials have not said why the action was taken against Bain and McKinney.

The new search must be completed within 120 days.

“My experience here has been extremely positive and one I have thoroughly enjoyed,” Cochrane said. “Everyone has been so supportive. The new president will be very fortunate to be selected to serve this incredible college.”

Cochrane thanked the community for “everything you have done to welcome me and to collaborate with me to continue the progress of JDCC.

“I look forward to working with you throughout this search process,” she said.
