Escambia Academy’s defense stopped Autauga Academy on a late two-point conversion attempt, as the Cougars held on for a tough 21-20 win in Prattville on Friday night in the opening game of the 2014 season.

EA led 13-0 at halftime before the Generals battled back to take a 14-13 lead in the fourth quarter. The Cougars responded when Tim Finklea scored a touchdown run and added the two-point conversion with 4:26 left in the game, putting EA back in front by a 21-14 score.

Autauga Academy scored a touchdown with 2:20 left in the game and elected to go for the two-point conversion with a run, but the Cougars’ defense stopped the attempt short.
