The Northview Chiefs defeated visiting Marianna 24-20 Friday night in the first home game of the season for the Chiefs.

Keondrae Lett scored the game-winning rushing touchdown and had two touchdowns on the night. Cameron Newsome also scored a 33-yard touchdown run.

The Chiefs’ defense came up strong late in the game, as Marianna drove down to the Northview 8. But the Chiefs sacked Marianna’s quarterback several times and eventually forced a turnover on downs.

Northview coach Sid Wheatley said his defense came up big in the win and gave a tremendous effort.
