Thank you scouts, for helping with my service project

Dear Editor,

I am writing to publicly thank Atmore Boy Scout Troop 26 for recently performing a service project at my home. After heel surgery, I have been unable to maintain my yard, although my wife mowed and helped as much as she was able. When the Troop 26 Scouts learned we needed assistance, they came together with their Scout Leaders and did an excellent job helping us get our yard work done.

It was a joy to watch these young men willingly work together as they accomplished each task with a good attitude and positive work ethic. They were polite, followed directions and worked safely. No one complained, quit or gave up. Some of the tools were unfamiliar to the Scouts but all were willing to take their turn and perform the work. This presented a new learning opportunity for the Scouts and a teaching opportunity for the leaders.

If you have children who are Cub Scout or Boy Scout age, please consider allowing them to participate in the Scouting program, which builds confidence, encourages teamwork, allows for personal achievement and helps build character through essential life skills training and volunteer service.

Thank you Troop 26. Your help and hard work are greatly appreciated.
