The Escambia County High School marching band had a strong performance Saturday at Saturday’s “A-Town Invitational” band competition in Andalusia.

ECHS, competing in Class 1A for bands, earned the “Best of Class” award in drum major and percussion.

The band earned the following scores: drum major ¬— 1, majorettes — 1, color guard — 1, percussion — 1, band — 1-1-1 for a 1.

ECHS competed in Class 1A along with Georgiana, Brantley, Highland Home, Florala, Red Level and J.U. Blacksher. A total of 21 bands participated.

Foley, the lone competitor in Class 5A, earned the Mayor’s Award and grand championship.
