Steven “Buck” Hubbard Jr.

Mr. Stephen “Buck” Hubbard Jr., 86, of Nokomis, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014.

Mr. Hubbard was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He retired from civil service, where he worked at Brookley Field in Mobile and Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla. He was a member of Nokomis Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Laura Mae Hubbard; a sister, Sally Tucker; and his wife, Pauline Brantley Hubbard.

Mr. Hubbard is survived by his sister, Margaret Johnson; his brother, Wayne (Linda) Hubbard, both of Nokomis; nieces and nephews, Todd (Samantha) Hubbard, Brayden Hubbard and Taylor Hubbard, all of Nokomis, and Ralph (Judy) Tucker, Steve Tucker, Stephen Curtis Tucker, Nicholas Tucker, Terri Tucker and Ethan Tucker, all of Knoxville, Tenn.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m., from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C.L. Langford and the Rev. James Hill officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors.

Active pallbearers were Todd Hubbard, Brayden Hubbard, Ralph Tucker, Stephen Curtis Tucker, Nicholas Tucker and Michael Hadley.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
