David Alan Lambert

Mr. David Alan Lambert, 38, of Goodway, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Lambert born on Oct. 28, 1975, was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, and received his bachelor’s degree from Troy University. He was a teacher with J.F. Shields High School and had received the 2014 Monroe County Teacher of the Year Award and the 2014 Robotics Coach Rookie of the Year Award. He was a football coach, a robotics coach, and a Scholar’s Bowl coach.

Mr. Lambert is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marshall and Lois Lambert and Rex and Vesta Sharpless; his sister, Valisha Paulette Lambert; and his uncles, Don Lambert and Jackie Sims.

Survivors include his parents, Gerald and Carolyn Lambert of Goodway; his wife, Nicole Woods Lambert of Goodway; his sons, Dylan John-David Lambert of Goodway and Alexander Cole Baggett of Goodway; his daughter, Kaylee RayAnne Lambert of Goodway; his sisters, Stephanie (David) Brown of Goodway and Heather (Josh) Johnson of Goodway; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Craig Hayles officiating. Burial will follow in Sowell Old Field Cemetery in Goodway. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is accepting flowers or donations may be made to J.F. Shields High School Science Department or Robotics Team.
