Elbie Jake Pugh, 82, of Jay, Fla., passed away Sunday Nov. 9, 2014 in Century, Fla.

He was a truck driver, born in Molino, Fla., on July 29, 1932, to the late Oscar and Addie Mae Dunman Pugh. He served in the U.S. Army, the Korean War and was of the Assemblies of God faith.

He is preceded in death by a son, Terry Pugh, and a grandson, A.J. Pugh.

Survivors are one son, Larry (Charlene) Pugh of Atmore; two brothers, Gary and Lane Pugh; two daughters, Elaine Pugh and Linda Pugh, both of Jay; three grandchildren, Jennifer Pugh, Larry Pugh Jr.and Matthew Kyle (Brittiany) Luker; and two great-grandchildren, Cadyn and Kysun Luker.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 11, in Jay Cemetery, with the Rev. Earl Green officiating. Interment followed in Jay Cemetery. The family received friends from noon until 1 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Larry Pugh Jr., Matthew Luker, Robin Jay, Austin Johnson, John Brown and Michael Grenshaw.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
