Mr. Lewis B. English, 73, of Bay Minette, received his heavenly reward on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at his home with his family by his side.

A native of Atmore, Mr. English was a resident of Bay Minette. He was a 1959 graduate of Escambia County Training School. He also attended Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette. He was a profound mechanic, electrician, and welder. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Bay Minette. In his leisure he enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing the guitar.

As he enters the pearly gates, he is met by his parents, William Lewis English and Myrtice Richburg English; two sons, Ricky English and Michael Robinson; and one sister, Dynesia Ann Pryear.

Those who will cherish his love and life are his wife, Marion “Pat” English of Bay Minette; seven daughters, Kimbre Freeman of Bay Minette, Tesaland (Gus) Turner of Troy, Patrice English of Birmingham, Tara English and Terdidra Johnson, both of Atmore, Angela Evans of Loxley and Cheryl Robinson of Atlanta, Ga.; nine sons, Lewis (Kathy) English Jr., Darrin (Rhonda) Freeman, Billy English and Antonio Robinson, all of Atmore, John Freeman of Bay Minette, Darrin English of Walnut Hill, Fla., Frank Robinson and Donald Ray Robinson, both of Atlanta, and Willie English of Mississippi; four sisters, Mildred Sims and Gwendolyn Yvonne (Rayvarn) Bryant, both of Atmore, Mazie Rene English of Anniston and Vivian (Ronald) Driskell of Southfield, Mich.; two brothers, James William (Elray) English and Larry English, all of Atmore; a host of grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church – Bay Minette with the Rev. Dwight Boykin, pastor, officiating. Inhumation will be in Mutual Aid Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Fri., Feb. 13, from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. His body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
