Help ACH, eat delicious chili!

The chill of winter is definitely in the air, and that’s why a hot steaming bowl of chili will likely taste extra good this weekend. So come out to Tom Byrne Park on Saturday to sample a variety of tasty hot dishes, and also help raise money for a worthy cause.

This Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at Tom Byrne Park, will be the second annual “Support ACH (Atmore Community Hospital) Chili Cook-Off.” Those who attended last year know the delicious varieties that will be served on that day, so be sure to come out and try as much as you can. Organizers said that they have had five more teams sign up this year than in 2014, so you know that the selection will be even more varied and delicious.

There is no cost for admission, if all you want to do is smell the tasty dishes. But that’s pretty pointless, so why not purchase a ticket to sample the chili varieties? An “All You Can Eat” wristband will be available for $15, or patrons can purchase five samples for $7.

This year, all proceeds will be used to purchase a new smart pump for the hospital’s I.V. dispenser.

Last year, the event raised enough money to help the hospital buy new equipment for the ACH radiology department. These smart pumps are a much needed piece of equipment, as well. They will help make dispensing medicine via I.V. more efficient and faster for ACH’s patients.

So come on out to Tom Byrne Park on Saturday and enjoy the community fun, food, and fellowship at the second annual “Support ACH Chili Cook-Off.” You’ll be glad you did.
