Mrs. Merle Sanks, 86, of Bay Minette, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, in Bay Minette.
She had lived in Baldwin County since the 1940s and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Dyas Assembly of God Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Erskin Donald Ward and Olympia Lee Akins Ward; her husband, Mr. Sherman W. Sanks; two brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her son, Donald Sanks and wife Dianne of Bay Minette; her daughter, Gaylean Stabler of Bay Minette; one brother, Erskin Donald “Don” Ward of Pensacola; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sanks were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Dyas Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Keith Lisenby officiating. Burial followed in Perdido Cemetery. Visitation was held from noon until the 2 p.m. service time on Sunday, Feb. 15.
