The Escambia County High School Blue Devils baseball team continued their recent strong play last week, earning three straight victories over area opponent Vigor.

ECHS won 7-1 at Vigor on Tuesday, March 17, and followed that up with a doubleheader sweep at home Thursday, March 19. The Blue Devils won Game 1 by the score of 4-0, and took Game 2 by a 9-8 score.

The wins improved ECHS’s record to 6-7 overall, and 3-0 in Class 5A, Area 2.

After starting the season 1-7, the Blue Devils then rattled off five straight victories.

The Blue Devils were scheduled to play at Flomaton on Monday, but that game was not complete by press time.

ECHS will host Georgiana at 6 p.m. on Thursday, and will also host Jay on Friday at 6 p.m. Both games will be played at Tom Byrne Park.
