Rotary offering 2 scholarships

Published 8:55 am Tuesday, March 31, 2015

The Atmore Rotary Club is awarding two scholarships up to $2,000 per scholarship to two 2015 high school graduates with a 2.5 or higher GPA who enroll as a full-time student in a college program for the 2015-16 academic year (fall and spring semesters). The scholarships are awarded on the basis of both merit and need.

Scholarship application packets are available at local high schools; students should contact their high school counselors for an application. All applications must be completed and postmarked by April 10, and must be returned with statement of finances, essay, official high school transcript, and two teacher recommendations. The scholarship winners will be announced at the Atmore Rotary Club’s Academic All Star reception in May.

The Atmore Rotary Club is an affiliate of Rotary International, which is the world’s first service club organization. More than 34 local members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self. The Club supports the Academic All Stars, the Third Grade Dictionary Project, and other community activities.
