An Atmore man was killed in a one-vehicle incident on Butler Street on Monday night, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

James Bradley Tolbert, 19, of Atmore, was killed when he was thrown from the bed of a 2003 Dodge Ram in which he was a passenger at 8:45 p.m., ALEA Trooper Jamie Maloy.

“Tolbert was pronounced dead at the scene,” Maloy said. “The driver of the Dodge, James Patrick Godwin, 29, of Atmore was not injured. The incident occurred on Butler Street, approximately eight miles north of Atmore.”

Nothing further is available as troopers continue to investigate.
