A flash flood watch is in effect for Escambia County from late tonight through late Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch is for Atmore and Brewton.

According to the NWS, 3-6 inches of rain will likely fall within the time period of the watch. There could be flooding of urban and poor drainage areas.

Widespread rain showers and a few thunderstorms will spread across the region through late tonight as an area of low pressure will lift toward the Louisiana coast, the NWS’ website said.
