Small Business Saturday is Nov. 28, and Atmore Mayor Jim Staff said the day, set between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is one that means a lot to local businesses.

“It makes a greater impact on the city, and lets local merchants know we care about them,” Staff said.

Small Business Saturday was created in 2010 in response to small business owners’ most pressing need — more customers. SBS is also a day to support the same businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country.

Staff said one can find just about anything in Atmore, and the day helps with the sales tax revenues.

“That would allow the city to give more services, especially work on our infrastructure,” he said.
