Atmore’s 8U Cal Ripken baseball team lost 16-2 to Monroe in the first round of the loser’s bracket tonight of the District 7 tournament at Tom Byrne Park.
Because of the loss, the local team was eliminated from the tournament.
In 10U action, Atmore los 7-3 to Flomaton in the winner’s bracket semifinals.
Atmore trailed 2-0 early and fell behind 7-0. ATM scored one run in the fifth inning, and added two in the sixth.
Atmore plays tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of Jay, Fla. and Century in the loser’s bracket.
