Lambert said the case is in reference to the incident, which took place on Nov. 1, 2016.

“Deputies responded to a residence on Ewing Drive, in Atmore near Poarch,” he said. “When deputies arrived, family member found the victim who was identified as Danny Fox, deceased.”

Lambert said the autopsy report showed the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. Additionally, deputies discovered that Fox’s truck was missing.

Lambert said Armstrong was arrested the next day in Washington County, Fla., in Fox’s truck.

Lambert said after forensics analysis and further evidence and information was discovered during the investigation, and after the case was presented to the grand jury, the indictment was returned.

Armstrong was extradited from Florida and remains in the Escambia County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
Darrell Brown and Yeldon Devonta Rothchild

Lambert said the grand jury handed down two indictments for capital murder for Darrell Brown, 29, and Yeldon D. Rothchild, 23, both of Atmore.

Rothchild was out on bond from other cases, Lambert said.

“This stems from a murder investigation of Donta Russell that happened on April 26, 2017,” Lambert said. “Deputies responded to the scene and found a vehicle in front of a residence on Martin Luther King Dr.”

Lambert said deputies saw Russell inside of the vehicle, and discovered Russell had gunshot wounds to his person.

“An investigation was conducted and evidence was collected and returned to form the indictments,” he said.
