United Fund sets 2018 fundraising goal

United Fund of Atmore set its 2018 fundraising goal at $32,000 for the coming year.

UF was formed several years ago, and its mission is to unite people and resources to build a stronger Atmore. The fund supports agencies through fundraising efforts throughout the year.

“We’re excited to get this fundraising year started,” UF President Andrew Garner said.

Next week, UF of Atmore will be holding its annual kickoff event in conjunction with the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours at the Atmore Public Library. The event lasts from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Every year, UF holds its annual Lock Up fundraiser, which serves as the organization’s major fund drive.

Agencies that benefit from United Fund dollars include: Atmore Area YMCA, Escambia County Cooperative Library System, Atmore Public Library, Escambia County Healthcare Authority, Pride of Atmore, GECA, Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry, and Atmore Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken Baseball.
