A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early this morning on Butler Street in Atmore, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Sgt. Derek R. Gessner said that Clinton Cole Gregson, 20, was killed when the 2012 GMC Sierra he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree on Butler Street, which is 20 miles north of Atmore.

“Gregson, who was not using a seatbelt, was pronounced dead on scene,” Gessner said in a release. “Ashley Fountain, 18, was transported to Atmore Community Hospital.”

No further information is available as troopers continue to investigate.
