Clifton wins again

Dirt was flying, engines were roaring and in the end only one driver stood out above all the rest in Flomaton.
Mark Clifton, looking like Kyle Busch, took home another checkered flag as he cruised to his 11th late model victory of the season at Flomaton Speedway on Saturday night.
Mike McGhee picked up a second place finish in the No. X1 car with Kevin Maher cruising in behind him in third place.
Track promoter NASCAR Ron said he was surprised at how well McGhee did racing up against Clifton.
“Clifton led the whole race, but McGhee was really reeling him in, but he just ran out of laps,” Ron said.
Josh Huss came across the finish line in a respective fourth place, while Micha McCall rounded out the Top 5.
David Odom ended the race in sixth position with Tiffany Johnson and her No. T22 car in seventh place.
Dan Allen came in behind Johnson in eighth place with Brandon Burkett finishing in ninth.Tracy Sutton finished out the Top 10.
Will Findley notched a victory in the street stock class racing with the experience equal to that of a 10-year veteran.
Bobby Resmondo finished as Findley’s closest competition leaving the speedway with a second-place finish.
NASCAR Ron said that the Findley-Resmondo duel was the best racing all night and was great for the crowd.
“Will and Bobby went at it all night with Will leading most of the laps, but with four to go Bobby passed him,” Ron said. “The next lap Will took his car and stuck down low and passed Bobby and was able to grab a win.”
Tim Reeves crossed the line in third spot, while Kenny Townson finished the race in fourth. Adam Purvis and the No. 14 car rounded out the Top 5.
Huck Gibson and John Ross finished in sixth and seventh and in a pair of No. 20 cars that made the crowd do a double take.
Andy Penton occupied eighth, John Jackson took home ninth and Michael Johnson finished out the Top 10.
Doc McDaniel held onto the lead in the bomber class and took home the checkers after a big victory.
Eddie Hammonds finished in the first runner-up position, while Johnnie Baxley left Flomaton with a third place finish.
Thomas Routley and James Bradley rounded out the Top 5 in fourth and fifth.
Ken Perry led the second half of the order with a sixth place finish. Andrew Findley raced his way through the pack to finish in the seventh spot. Scooter Willis scooted his car around the track and ended the race in eighth, while Reese Jordan finished in ninth. Jamie Young, who has dominated much of the bomber class, finished in 10th.
Jimmy Boyington won the stinger feature on Saturday night.
Randall Warrick finished in second place with Ronald Ross hot on his bumper in third.
Corey Gauge finished in fourth and Brad Johnson rounded out the Top 5.
John Victor took home a sixth place finish and Aaron Kiaunis finished out the order in seventh.
Nascar Ron thanked all the sponsors who participated in the back to school give-a-ways including State Farm Insurance in Brewton, Sandwich Deli in Century Fla., the Army recruiting office in Brewton and Pen Air Federal Credit Union.
He added that this week is High Grade Fabrication of Pensacola family night.
“We want to thank all of the sponsors who helped with the back-to-school give-a-ways for the kids and all the pencils that were donated,” Ron said. “This weekend we will have another family night to show appreciation for one of our sponsors and hopefully give some T-shirts away.”
