Huss holds off streaking Sutton

Josh Huss found his way to victory lane again on Saturday night and increased his points lead over Mark Clifton in the late model standings.
The man on a hot streak lately, Tracy Sutton, picked up another big finish and left Flomaton with a second-place run.
Speedway promoter NASCAR Ron said the race between Huss and Sutton was hard fought.
“Josh and Tracy went at it all night,” Ron said. “Josh was able to pull it out in the end and hold Tracy off though. That late model race was full of excitement.”
Jack Daughtrey and his No. 6 car finished in third, while Chris Griffin ended the night in fourth place.
Tiffany Johnson rounded out the Top 5, and Jeff Cooper left Flomaton with a sixth place finish after not starting the feature.
Huss leads the late model point standings with 645, while Mark Clifton sits in second with 605 points.
Chris Griffin is in third with 413 points and Tracy Sutton is close behind him with 403. Kevin Maher closes out the Top 5 with 384 points.
In the street stock feature, “young gun,” Will Findley added another victory to his resume beating out Bobby Resmondo.
NASCAR Ron said Findley has come alive this season and is racing as good as some of the veterans.
“Will is really driving his car well,” Ron said. “It is impressive how well a young guy like that can out drive some of our more experienced competitors sometimes.”
Adam Purvis raced his way to a third place finish holding off Marty Vann who left Flomaton with a fourth place finish.
Adam Ellison finished in fifth place; Andy Penton took home sixth and Wayne Hawthorne finished out the order in the seventh spot.
Resmondo commands the street stock point standings with 739 points. His closest competition is Findley who is 105 points back with 634.
Wayne Hawthorne sits alone in third place with 428 points, while Jarrod Johns is in fourth with 387.
Rusty Turner holds onto fifth with 285 points.

Young beat out Dean Brooks for the top spot, while Keaton Ward finished in third place.
James Bradley finished in fourth with Joey Chiles finishing out the Top 5.
Johnnie Baxley crossed the finish line in sixth place with Eddie Hammonds coming in behind him in seventh.
Benny Kimmons finished in eighth place, Mike Wedgeworth came in behind him in ninth and Andrew Findley raced into the Top 10.
Austin Hawthorne left Flomaton in 11th.
Young sits atop the bomber point standings with 640 points, while Hammonds sits in second with 572.
James Bradley controls third place with 394 and his closest competitor, Levi Wales is in fourth with 326 points.
Johnnie Baxley rounds out the Top 5 with 298 points.
Brian McCreary took home the checkered flag in the stinger class feature Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway.
Jimmy Boyington crossed the finish line in the runner-up spot, while Yancy Dubose finished in third place.
Ronald Ross ended the night in fourth, and Angela Hayes rounded out the order in fifth.
Boyington leads the stinger point standings with 683 points, while Aaron Kiaunis is not far behind in second with 641.
Ronald Ross is in third place with 533 points, and Brian McCreary is nipping at his heels in fourth with 531.
Corey Gauge closes out the Top 5 with 508 points.
This weekend the general grandstand admission for adults will be $8, children from 6-11-years-old get in for $3 and children five and under still get in free.
NASCAR Ron said the track encourages families to come out and watch the racing.
“We want our regular crowd to come out to the track this weekend and we would love to see new faces out here as well,” Ron said. “We are going to have an exciting program this week, as we are the only track racing in the area. Bring out the kids and family and enjoy a night of stock car racing.”
