State of emergency declared

As Hurricane Ida approaches, Escambia County, Fla. has declared a state of emergency with all public schools closing Monday and Tuesday and shelters opening Monday in preparation for the storm's landfall.
The shelters opening in the county include:
Pensacola High School Gymnasium, 500 W. Maxwell St., Pensacola - opening at 10 a.m.
Molino Park Elementary -also serving as a pet shelter - Buildings 1-5, 899 Hwy. 97, Molino - opening at 10 a.m.
West Florida Technical (Special Needs Only) - Buildings 25 and 26, 2400 Longleaf Dr., Pensacola, opening at noon
Public schools will also be closed Wednesday due to the Veterans Day holiday.
