McDavid man killed in Century accident

A 41-year-old McDavid man died from injuries sustained in an automobile wreck near Century, Fla., Saturday morning.
Jerry Randall Bonds was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 and County Road 4 in Century, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The other driver involved in the wreck was William Blow, 49, of Brewton, who was transported to West Florida Regional Medical Center. He is listed in stable condition.
Charges in the case are pending, according to the press release, which also states that alcohol may have played a part in the wreck.
Hurdo Jones, a passenger in Blow's 1994 Dodge pick-up was taken to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries, according to the release.
Blow was traveling eastbound on County Road 4 and Bonds was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 29 in a 1990 Plymouth Laser in the outside lane, according to the release.
After stopping for a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 4 and U.S. Highway 29, Blow "attempted to turn north onto U.S. 29 and traveled into the path of [Bonds]," the release stated.
Bonds attempted "evasive action but was unable to avoid collision," the release stated.
The front of Bonds' Laser struck Blow's pick-up truck in the left front/left side, according to the press release.
Blow's truck came to a rest in the southbound, outside lane of U.S. Highway 29 facing northbound and Bonds' car came to a final rest in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 29 facing eastbound.
