It's about making a child smile.
Thanks to five community minded businesses needy children in the Atmore area will have something to smile about this Christmas.
In cooperation with the Marine Corps Reserve National Toys for Tots program, a group of local businesses has collected toys to be distributed to needy children in the Atmore area. Participating business include Staff Chevrolet, Johnson Ford, Burger King, Al's 5 &10 and Family Dollar.
Williams said next year the goal is to get more businesses involved and increase the number of toys given to area children. "We feel like the Atmore area can support this cause," he said.
The local companies have been collecting toys for the past couple of weeks.
Local organizers said they plan to make next years Toys for Tots campaign bigger and better.
The employees at Al's 5 &10 got into the Christmas spirit with each employee contributing a toy. "Anytime you can find an opportunity to help someone its a good thing to do especially children," Al's 5 &10 assistant manager, Pam Kirby said.
Williams said he would like to thank WYDH, "The Eagle" radio and The Atmore Advance for helping sponsor this year's effort.
