Atmore police believe alcohol may be to blame for a one-vehicle wreck on West Nashville Avenue late Thursday night.
According to police reports, Woodrow Allen, 24, of Perdido was traveling east on West Nashville when he lost control of his 1991 Ford pickup truck near Cinder-bran Drive.
The truck apparently ran off the right side of the road, then flipped and began to roll down the roadway. It came to a rest on its side in the woods off the left side of the road, facing west.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:55 p.m. Allen was injured and transported by Atmore Ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital.
Witnesses told police that Allen had just left the Country Lounge, located just eight-tenths of a mile from the scene of the accident.
Police counted 132 paces from the point where the truck began to roll and where it finally landed in the woods.
According to the wreck report, the vehicle was traveling at approximately 80 mph at the time of the accident. The speed limit on the road is 50 mph.
