Northwest Escambia baseball, T-ball under way

Myles Hollingsworth struck out 10 batters while scattering eight hits to lead First National Bank of the Northwest Escambia League to a 4-2 win over the Century Braves in Major League Baseball action.
Hollingsworth also helped himself at the plate with two RBI. Other offensive leaders were Brandon Walker with two hits, one RBI and one run; Richard Hunter with two hits and one run; Levon Kimmons and Tyler Harrison with one hit and one run each; Vanessa Garrison with one hit; and Nicholas Angeles with one run.
Angeles also picked up the save in relief of Hollingsworth on the mound.
Defensive standouts included Brandon Sharpless, Jeremy Halteman, Chris Hare, Cody Burroughs and Nicholas Sapp.
First National Bank 7
Chumuckla 2
Richard Hunter had a big day at the plate and on the mound for First National Bank in their 7-2 win over Chumuckla.
Hunter was the winning pitcher, tossing a two-hitter with eight strikeouts, and he also had a pair of hits, three RBI and one run scored.
Nicholas Angeles got the save, striking out one batter, and also scored twice. Other offensive standouts included Vanessa Garrison with three hits and two RBI; Brandon Walker with two hits and two runs; Myles Hollingsworth with two runs; and Devon Kimmons with an RBI.
Heading up the defensive effort were Nicholas Sapp, Cody Burroughs, Chris Hare, Tyler Harrison and Brandon Sharpless.
T-ball
Smart Cop vs. Smith Tractor
Ryan Walker scored four runs for Smart Cop and Wes Chancery and Travis Case each scored four times for Smith Tractor as the two teams battled to a tie.
Walker also had two putouts in the game. Other standouts for the Smart Cop team were Micah Byers with a double and five putouts, Keaton Gross with five RBI, LaMikeal Banks and Tinqueisha Mitchell with four RBI each, Reid Bell with three putouts and Justin Halteman, who made the last putout at home plate which resulted in the tie game.
For Smith Tractor, Case had a double and five RBI, Chancery had a pair of putouts and Blakely Barnhill had two doubles and four RBI.
