Joan Gerlach Nunez
Joan Gerlach Nunez of Metarie, La., died Tuesday, March 12, 2000. She was 72.
A funeral mass was held Friday, March 17, in Metarie. A memorial service was also held at 9 a.m. Monday, March 20, in St. Robert's Catholic Church in Atmore. Burial followed in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Nunez was a native of Atmore.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Nunez of Metarie; her children and their spouses, Charles Jr. and Gail Nunez of Houston, Texas, Chris and Brenna Nunez of Bryn Athyn, Penn., Keith Nunez of Metarie, Jan and Charles Craddock of Clarkston, Wash., and Felix Nunez of Hammond, La.; a sister, Carol Boagey of South Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Michael Gerlach of Dallas, Texas, and Tommy Gerlach of Atmore; and six grandchildren.
Ruth Crane Agee
Mrs. Ruth Crane Agee, 87, died Thursday, March 30, 2000.
Mrs. Crane was a retired machine operator with Vanity Fair and a member of Judson Baptist Church and a member of Greenville Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Julian Agee, a daughter, Helen Agee Chapman and a grandson, John Michael Chapman.
She is survived by a son, Charles Agee of Poarch; a special friend and daughter, Arlene Delafosse of Atmore; three granddaughters, Cindy Butler of Excel, Regena Wood of Stapleton and Becky Brown of Pensacola and five great-grandchildren, Brandon Butler, Neal Butler, Micheal Wood, Rachel Wood and Jacob Brown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 1 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Dukes officiating.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Hilbert Hall, Eric Hall, Scotty Hall, Mark Hall, Johnny Crane and Charlie Crane Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Byron Higdon, John Moore, Ervin J. Hall, Bill Watt, Leslie Hard, Murray Ellison and A.C. Henley.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Joseph Rohanna "Bug" Albert Jr.
Mr. Joseph Rohanna "Bug" Albert Jr., 71, of Atmore, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at his residence. Mr. Albert was a lifelong resident of Atmore and a member of Saint Robert's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Rohanna Albert III, a daughter, Thelma Louise Albert and a brother, George Albert.
Mr. Albert is survived by his wife, Thelma Albert of Atmore; three sons, Tommy Mackey of Atmore, Gary Mackey of Lexington, Ky. and John Albert of Pensacola; two brothers, John Albert of Southern Pines, N. C. and Tony Albert of Atmore; two sisters, Josephine Ward of El Paso, Texas and Catherine Bray of Mobile; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Saint Robert's Catholic Church on Saturday, April 1 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Father Jim Dane and the Rev. Father Cecil Spotswood officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Mackey III, Joey Mackey, Joshua Mackey, Eddie Ward, Eddie Slay and Ken McLeod.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice or to Saint Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Atmore Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
James Clemmons
Mr. James Clemmons of Atmore died Friday, March 31, 2000 at Bay Side Manor in Pensacola.
Services will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.
Hillary Hubert Jr.
Mr. Hillary Hubert Jr., 49, of Freemanville died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Atmore Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Robert "Bob" Ragan
Mr. Robert "Bob" Ragan died at a local hospital on Saturday, March 25, 2000.
Mr. Ragan was a resident of Atmore for the past 51 years and was a member of Presley Street Baptist Church. He was also a retired employee of Smith Bakery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Peaden Ragan and a son, John Thomas Ragan.
Mr. Ragan is survived by three sons, Robert R. Ragan and his wife, Barbara, of Brewton, Steve Ragan and his wife, Debbie, and David Ragan and his wife, Birtha, all of Atmore; a brother, Thomas Neal Ragan Jr. of Yakima, Wa. and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 29, at 10 a.m. at Atmore Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Campbell officiating.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stephen Ragan, Justin Ragan, John Ragan, Mike Dellacio, Randy Dorriety and Cecil Ellis.
Atmore Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Dell Taylor
Mrs. Dell Taylor, 51, of Greenville, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at a Birmingham hospital. A former resident of Atmore, she lived in Greenville for 18 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Leon Taylor; four sons, Laden Howell of Brewton, John Jarrell of Kissamee, Fla., Billy Jarrell of Mobile and Millard Peacock of Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Sarah Jarrell and Sarah Kendick, both of Bay Minette; two step-daughters, Becky Hooper of Atmore and Frances Raybon of Greenville; three brothers, James E. King of Lottie, Harvey D. King of Blountstown and Jerry L. King of Bay Minette; five sisters, Ruby E. Welch of Atmore, DeeDee Ramey of Pensacola, Jean Stacey of Rabon, Sheila Paul of Lottie and Jewel Singleton of Bratt; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 1, at Atmore Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Atmore Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
