Jean Teal Allen
Mrs. Jean Teal Allen, 69, of Atmore, died Thursday, May 4, 2000.
Mrs. Allen was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and a long time member of the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Larkin Allen.
She is survived by two sons, Patrick V. Allen of Atmore and Robert Daniel Allen of Dothan and four grandchildren, Heather Marie Allen, Paul Larkin Allen II, Halley Allen and Brooke Allen.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Brannon officiating.
Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallabearers were Jimmy Crook, Jim Spears, Bruce Emmons, Joe Brogden, Scotty Byrne, Rusty Lutrell and Jim Van Pelt. Honorary pallbearers were members of First United Methodist Church Choir and the Interse Group.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Hassan LaTe-Vyare Franklin
Baby Hassan LaTe-Vyare Franklin of Century died Tuesday, May 2, 2000 in Atmore Community Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Kint and Wykesha Franklin of Century; two sisters, Kentezia and Kintezha Franklin of Century; grandparents Gwen and Tommy Odom, Richard and Eva Carter, Betty Franklin and Jacob Knight, all of Century and great-grandparents Lucille and Tyrone Taylor, Maxine Hill and Vida Lee, all of Century.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 5 at 11 a.m. at Century Cemetery with Elder Kenneth Wilson officiating.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Susie Kearley Jackson
Mrs. Susie Kearley Jackson, 93, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, in Montgomery. Mrs. Jackson was born in Atmore.
She was a member of Opelika Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Frank P. Jackson.
She is survived by a sister, Nell Hibbert of Pensacola; a brother, Charles N. Kearley of Montgomery, five nieces and nephews and many other friends and family.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at Atmore Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kelly Brown officiating.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.

.Alexander Thomas Sr.
Mr. Alexander "Tappin" Thomas Sr., 71, of Atmore, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, in Ellenwood, Ga.
Mr. Thomas was born in and attended school in Atmore. Following a year in the U.S. Army, he moved to Philadelphia where he worked in construction and then opened his own restaurant. In 1970 he moved back to Atmore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Mae Letlow Thomas.
Mr. Thomas is survived by a daughter, Audrey Thomas, and her husband Franklin; a son, Alexander Gregory Thomas, and his wife Anita; four grandchildren, Darrell Jamar, Nicole Alexandria, Brandy Norell and Devouta Thomas; two brothers, Walter Thomas and his wife Rachel and Claude Thomas and his wife Berniece; two sisters, Gussie Mae Wilson and Laura Nettles; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Ethel Hamilton, Lester and Levonia Williams and John and Inez Monlyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, May 9, from 1 to 8 p.m. with a family hour from 6 – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Brother Lewis Foster officiating.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
