Verniece McGhee

Ms. Verniece McGhee, 63, formerly of Atmore, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
Ms. McGhee is a native of Dundee, Miss. She was a former member of McGhee Temple Church of God in Christ which is now named Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.
She attended Escambia County Training School but graduated high school in New York City, New York. She also attended and graduated from nursing school and dietician school.
She worked as a self-employed caterer in the Atlanta area.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elder Andrew Thomas McGhee; her mother, Catherine White McGhee; her grandfather, David White and her grandmother, Idella Thompson White.
She is survived by one daughter, Marcella Denise Jones of Ashville, NC; a sister, Ercell McGhee Rodgers of Atmore and two granddaughters, Wykinia Jones of Atlanta and Takela Jones of Ashville.
Public viewing will be held Friday, July 14 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15 at 1 p.m. at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Johnny Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Stallworth Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
