Mr. Joseph McArthur Rowell, 57, of Gerismar, La. died Tuesday, August 1, 2000, in Baton Rouge, La.
Mr. Rowell was a native of Escambia County and was employed as a maintanance oiler with J. E. Merit Construction, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson W. Rowell and Lillie Mae Bailey Rowell and a brother, Curtis Rowell.
Mr. Rowell is survived by two sons, Jimmy Rowell of Bay Minette and Jerry Rowell of Crestview; a daughter, Annette Wallace of Bay Minette; a brother, Ed Rowell of Mobile; seven sisters, Guelda "Tiny" Womack, Cleo Sellers, Ernestine Forte and Willodean Davis, all of Atmore, Lurea Bailey of Bratt, Jeanette Small of Hanover, Pa. and Pa and Joyce Fogg of Partales, N. M. and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 4 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael McRae officiating.
Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Mark Digmon, Mike Digmon, Elliot Clemmons, Chipper Staff, Ricky Davis, Ray James and Randy Powell.
