Bowhunter's Tune-up targets awareness

Pearson Archery and McPherson Archery will hold its 6th Annual Bowhunter's Tune-up Clinic Saturday, Aug. 19, in the Brewton Industrial Park on Highway 31. The event is hosted by McPherson and Pearson Archery, two of the industries leading compound bow manufacturers located in Brewton, Ala.
The clinic is held to increase awareness of the sport of bowhunting in the area and to educate and assist both new and experienced archers.
All aspects of the sport are covered in the clinic. Staff members will be on hand to answer questions and provide instruction. Free shooting and hunting seminars will be held throughout the day.
The seminar on proper release and advanced shooting techniques will begin at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m., a seminar on bowhunting strategies and equipment set-up will begin. Finally at 1 p.m., the seminar on optimizing arrow speeds will begin.
Instructors will be on hand to assist new and beginning archers in the fundamentals of selecting equipment and proper shooting.
Bring your bow and have it tuned, inspected and set up for the upcoming archery season. The Pearson and McPherson Shooting
Special certified archery instructors will be on hand to assist kids of all ages. If you don't have equipment, Pearson will provide bows and arrows for each youth to shoot during the clinic.
Refreshments, including hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided free.
