Opal Matchett Ledkins Boone

Mrs. Opal Matchett Ledkins Boone, 88, of Monroeville, died Tuesday, August 8, 2000, in Monroe County Hospital.
Mrs. Boone worked at Vanity Fair for the younger part of her life. Later in life she was a homemaker. She was a member of Little River Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bud Ledkins and Walter Boone, and a son, Munlen Ledkins.
Mrs. Boone is survived by a son, Earl Ledkins and his wife, Erma, of Excel; a daughter, Dean Smith and her husband, James, of Brewton; six step-children; nine grandchildren, Mike Ledkins and his wife, Judith of Thomasville, Ala., Mitch Ledkins and his wife, Wanda, Mark Ledkins and his wife, Lila, Annette L. Maughow and her husband, Brent, and Tamera L. Baggett and her husband, Jeff, all of Excel, Kelan Smith and his wife, Sue, of Mobile, Hamp Smith of Panama City and Dr. Ricky Ledkins of Stillwater, Fla. and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 10 at 2 p.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Ledkins officiating.
Burial was at Oak Grove Assembly of God Cemetery in Excel.
Monroe Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
