If Grove Hill's performance in the pre-season Jamboree is any indication, Escambia Academy will have it's hands full this Friday night.
Grove Hill enters the season ranked 10 in AISA Class 1A.
Cougar head coach Mickey Cannon said he feels confident going into Friday's game. "If we do the things we know how to do, we will give them a good ball game," he said. "If we play smart football and do the things we do well, I know we can win. It's our goal to go up there and beat them."
Cannon said Grove Hill has added three new coaches to their staff. All three were head coaches at some point in their career.
One change to the area line-up is Grove Hill doesn't represent an area game for the Cougars this season.
Cannon said the Cougar's first two games are their biggest rivalries of the year. The Cougar will face off against a talented Monroe Academy team in the second game of the season.
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
