Mr. John Edward Golden, 89, of Jay, died Thursday, August 24, 2000.
He was born in Pollard and resided in Jay most of his life. He was owner and operator of Golden Gin and Warehouse, Inc. since 1962.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edward McNaughton "Ed Mac" Golden.
Mr. Golden is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruth McNaughton Golden; a son, Marcus Golden; three daughters, Jean Golden Wolfe and her husband, Samuel, Doris Golden Marshall and Elizabeth Golden Scott; three grandsons, Phillip Golden Marshall, Stephen Golden Wolfe and Daniel Edward Golden; four granddaughters, Pamela Scott Strangeland, Faye Diamond, Concettia Golden Nall and Melissa Scott Lambert; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Golden and Paul Golden and three sisters, Mary Lee Cooley, Lizzie Kate Thomas and Ruby Strickland.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 27 at 2 p.m. at Golden Memorial Church with the Rev. G. W. Birdsong officiating.
Burial will be at Golden Memorial Church Cemetery.
