After a week off, the Northview Chiefs will travel to Catholic High School Friday for a game that could have playoff implicaitons.
The Chiefs, enter the game with a record of 4-4. With a win over their area foe this week, they could still have a shot at the Florida playoffs. But, they will also need the help of Marianna High School, which must beat Chipley in order to give Northview a shot at postseason. However, there is a chance that if Northview and Chipley wins this week and the Chiefs beat Navarre in the final week, they may still receive an at-large playoff berth.
Northview is coming off their biggest win of the season – a 56-6 victory over Kinston, Ala.
Head Coach David Williams said he hoped the momentum of that game carries through the final two weeks.
Catholic is coming off of a 35-19 loss to Pensacola High School and went 6-4 last season and had a good group return on the offensive side of the ball this year.
Catholic is 4-4 on the season. But, after beginning with a record 1-3, they have turned things around and have went 3-1 over the past four games with a new quarterback.
Williams said that as far as his team is concerned playoff football has already started.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Catholic High School.
