Mrs. Dorothy Mitchell Scott, 58, of Jay, died Saturday, November. 18, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Scott was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was a skilled seamstress, and her floral garden was her favorite hobby.
She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Lynn Scott.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Marvin (Buck) Scott, of Jay; mother, Lawada Mitchell; son, Jason Scott of Jay; four daughters and their husbands, Gina Odom and her husband, Randy of Jay, Tammy Diamond and her husband, Mickey, of Jay, Sandy Geck and her husband, Jeffrey, of Flomaton, Teresa Hendricks and her husband, Mark, of Jay; three brothers, Harold Mitchell, David Mitchell and Darrell Mitchell all of Andalusia; four sisters, Barbara Smith of Luverne, Marie Thomasson and Evelyn Griggs both of Andalusia and Margaret Burkett of Greenville; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Cora Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Saucier and the Rev. Jerry Keese officiating. Burial following in Cora Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Crispin, Lewis Holcomb, Tex Scott, Rex Goodson, Andy Smith, and Kenny Maughon.
