Mr. Hubert G. Miller, 82, of Pensacola, died Saturday, November 18, 2000, in a local hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Miller was a native of Saranca Lake, N.Y. and had resided in the Pensacola area for the past 15 years. He was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, was retired from the U.S. Army with 34 years of service. He served in W.W. II, Korean War and Viet Nam and was a Judge Advocate General. Mr. Miller was the recipient of our nations second highest medal (The Distinguished Service Cross) and two purple hearts. He was an Olympic Bobsledder in 1952 – 1956 and won the World Championship in 1953.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lou Miller of Pensacola; a son and daughter-in-law, Pete and Virginia Miller of Atmore; a daughter and son-in-law, Ursula and Russell Mylenbusch of Mossy Head; three grandchildren and a great- granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 24 at 11 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church with Father John Cayer officiating.
Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, November 27 at Azalea Trace Retirement community.
Cedar Hill Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
