Mr. Floyd David "Pace" Gray Sr., 56, died Thursday, December 23, 2000, in Westbury, N. Y.
He was a native of Atmore and resident of Westbury for many years. He was a graduate of Escambia County Training School, member of St. John's Baptist Church in Westbury and had worked for Westbury Union Free School District and owned/operated "Pace's Place" in Westbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anise Gray and Willie Williams.
Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Joann Gray of Baltimore, Md., three sons, David Youngblood of Ill., Shawn Anthony Gray and Floyd David Gray Jr, both of Baltimore; a brother, Leon Gray and his wife, Bill, of Texas; two sisters, Virginia Barron and her husband, Walter, of Westbury and Barbara Coleman of Baltimore and two aunts, Idell Smith and Francis "String" Gray, both of Atmore.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 29 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Baptist Church with the Rev. William Watson officiating.
Burial was at Plain Lawn Cemetery in Hicksville, N. Y.
Harvey Funeral Home, Inc. in Brooklyn, N. Y. was in charge of arrangements. Turner Funeral Chaple in Atmore announcing.
