Mrs. Pearlie Mae Simpson, 90, died Saturday, January 20, 2001, at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
Mrs. Simpson was a native of Mobile and resident of Atmore for the past 21 years. She was a member of Zion Star AME Zion Church, Mother of the church and a member of the Stewardess Board. She was retired as a self-employed hair dresser.
Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her father, James Owens; her mother, Rebecca Kenloach-Owens and special friend, Hanson March.
She is survived by her cousins, Ben Owens Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Theodore, Rosie Lee Murray, Archie Franklin, Flossie Broaden and Alice Turnbolt, all of Mobile, Alee Franklin of Moss Point, Miss., Lola Bell Bass of Cincinnati, Ohio and James Smith of Bartow, Fla.
Visitation will be Friday, January 26 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 27 at 10 a.m. at Zion Star AME Zion Church with the Rev. Willie Wright Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at Stallworth Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stewards of Zion Star AME Zion Church and friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
