The Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry has been operating for five weeks now. The community churches and individuals have made a great effort to work together to respond to needs with compassion, help and in the name of Jesus Christ.
During the first month of operation, over 2,000 food items have been donated to form the Atmore area food bank. Food has been received from churches, individuals, families and area merchants. Much of this food has been made available to clients and to hungry families in Atmore.
Please note that the following food items are currently needed: cooking oil, meal, flour, sugar, canned meats, cereal, paper products.
Please note: glass items are discouraged. All items should be unopened. Your help is greatly needed and appreciated.
More than 60 applications have been received for direct help. Many of these applicants have been interviewed, counseled and helped or referred to other agencies or programs.
The Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry has seen a growing support from local churches. Some congregations are receiving offerings or are making budgeted monthly contributions.
The AACCM is run entirely by volunteers. The hours are 9-12, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
